Rospotrebnadzor in 2020 seized 33 tons of alcoholic beverages that do not meet the established standards. This was reported on April 22 on the agency’s website.

It is noted that the specialists of Rospotrebnadzor last year tested about 65 thousand alcohol samples “for microbiological, physicochemical, sanitary and chemical indicators and for the presence of radioactive substances”.

It turned out that 1.19% of the samples did not meet the requirements for microbiological and physicochemical indicators. In terms of physical and chemical indicators characterizing the quality of products, 1.24% of samples did not meet the declared requirements.

At the same time, no samples were found that did not correspond to sanitary and chemical indicators.

“According to the results of measures for control by the specialists of Rospotrebnadzor on the issued orders to terminate the sale and orders on disposal or destruction, 1,450 consignments of 33 tons of alcohol were withdrawn from circulation,” Gazeta.ru is quoted as saying.

In November last year, it was reported that the Council of the Eurasian Economic Commission (EEC) postponed the entry into force of the technical regulations for the safety of alcohol until January 1, 2022. It was previously planned that it will start operating on January 9, 2021.

The EAEU technical regulation on alcohol safety establishes requirements for alcoholic beverages, which will become mandatory for use in the territory of the Union member states. The document supplements the requirements of technical regulations on food safety, food labeling and packaging safety.
