The details of the location of the Samarskaya metro station in Samara were announced by the Acting Minister of Construction of the region Sergey Pichushkin.

“There are several residential buildings next to the land plot on which the work is planned. They are located at the addresses: Samarskaya, 186 (two houses under the same number) and Samarskaya, 188, ”the official explained.

Officials plan to either temporarily relocate residents, or to relocate the buildings and demolish them, reports NIA Samara. As Sergey Pichushkin explained, financing of any of these options is provided for at the first stage of construction. The new station will be located at the intersection of Samarskaya and Yarmarkochnaya streets. It is supposed to be small, with two lobbies. The construction time has not yet been determined.

The Samara metro started operating in December 1987. The first stage included four stations. Now the metro consists of one line and 10 stations. The last one, “Alabinskaya”, was opened on February 1, 2015.

The authorities plan to build a second metro line, which will start from the railway station. How exactly it will go has not yet been decided.

The most ambitious scenario for the development of the subway in Samara will require more than 62 billion rubles. The relevant data are presented in the project of an integrated transport scheme for the Samara-Togliatti agglomeration, developed by the employees of the Federal Research Institute of Emergency Situations. By 2024, the authorities plan to ensure the completion of work at the Alabinskaya and Moskovskaya stations, as well as the opening of Samarskaya on the first metro line, and by 2035 – to build a second metro line from Vokzalnaya station to Orlovskaya station.
