President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy is ready to visit Moscow at any time, Russian leader Vladimir Putin said during a meeting with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko.

According to Putin, such negotiations may be about the development of bilateral relations, writes Gazeta.Ru.

“If President Zelensky wants to start restoring relations, then we will only welcome it,” the Russian president added.

The President of Russia stressed that if the Ukrainian leadership wants to discuss the problems of Donbass, then first of all it should meet with the heads of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics, and then raise these issues with representatives of third countries.

Zelensky himself on April 20 proposed a meeting with Putin “anywhere” in Donbass. According to him, the different views of the two countries on the past and on the future can be viewed not as a problem, but as an opportunity.

On April 22, the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin invited Zelensky to meet and hold talks on the contact line in Donbass. On the same day, the head of the self-proclaimed Luhansk People’s Republic (LPR) Leonid Pasechnik also invited Zelensky to meet in Donbass.

Since 2014, Kiev has been conducting a military operation against the residents of Donbass, who refused to recognize the results of the coup and the new government in Ukraine. At the same time, the Ukrainian authorities blame Russia for the current situation. Moscow has repeatedly noted that it is not a party to the internal Ukrainian conflict.
