Negotiations with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are meaningless as long as official Kiev continues its current policy. This point of view was expressed by Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov.

The politician stressed that even more, such negotiations would not make sense without the participation of the self-proclaimed republics of Donbass.

“Negotiations with Zelensky, whether in Paris or“ anywhere in Donbass, ”do not make sense under the current policy of Ukraine, because Kiev is not fulfilling its obligations. Moreover, without the participation of the DPR / LPR (Donetsk and Lugansk people’s republics. – Ed.), “Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel.

The senator added that at the same time it is possible to catch Zelensky at his word and offer to hold negotiations in Donetsk or Lugansk.

“But neither Zelensky, Macron, nor Merkel will come to Donetsk. So these are empty words again, ”summed up Pushkov.

Earlier, on April 20, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy offered to meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin “anywhere” in Donbass.

The Russian President replied that if Kiev wants to restore relations, Moscow will only welcome this. According to Putin, in order to develop bilateral relations, the Russian Federation will receive Zelensky in Moscow at any time convenient for the Ukrainian leader.

On April 23, it was clarified in Kiev that Ukraine is ready for negotiations with Russia, France and Germany anywhere in Donbass, but without the participation of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.
