Russian Senator Alexei Pushkov on Wednesday, November 25, commented on Twitter on the words of the head of the Executive Committee of Ukraine’s Reforms Mikhail Saakashvili about the imminent economic catastrophe in the country.
According to the parliamentarian, Saakashvili soberly assessed the situation in Ukraine, making his statement, although he did not name the reasons that led to this.
According to Pushkov, the reasons were: the rupture of trade and economic ties with Russia, the failure of the European integration policy, the lack of foreign investment. And also the fact that “Ukraine lives on handouts, the authorities are inactive.”
The day before, Saakashvili said that from the beginning of next year Ukraine will have problems with social payments. He noted that despite such an economic situation, the country’s authorities seem to exist in a “parallel world”.
In August, former Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said that the country had destroyed its economy and, as a result, lost its independence.
