The road and municipal services of the Moscow region were transferred to an increased mode of operation due to snow. On Sunday, February 21, the Minister of Transport and Road Infrastructure of the region Alexey Gerzhik told about this.
“Road services have been transferred to an enhanced mode of operation at subordinate road facilities. More than 2.3 thousand units of equipment and almost 2.7 thousand people are now involved in cleaning roads, if necessary, additional resources will be involved, ”Gerzhik quotes the Ministry’s Telegram channel.
As specified, first of all, roads are cleaned: carriageways, outbound highways, entrances to social infrastructure facilities, and so on. The consequences of snowfalls in the courtyards are eliminated by over 1.6 thousand units of equipment and more than 15 thousand janitors.
The Moscow Region Ministry of Transport urged drivers to be careful and, if possible, refuse to travel by private transport.
Earlier in February, it was reported that utilities were completing work to eliminate the consequences of a heavy snowfall in Moscow. Over 28 million cubic meters were removed from streets and courtyards in a week. m of snow.
The snowfall in the capital ranks third among the strongest snowfalls in February in the last half century. In just two days, the region received 87% of the monthly rainfall.
The Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement, Pyotr Biryukov, reported that during the work of the municipal services, new methods were used for temporary storage of snow, moving snow, transferring it and, of course, removing it to snow-melting points.
