The administration of American leader Joe Biden does not miss the tweets of former US President Donald Trump, White House spokeswoman Jen Psaki said at a news briefing on February 1. At the same time, she first called Trump president.
“It can be hard to believe, we don’t spend a lot of time talking or thinking about President Trump,” Psaki said, and then corrected herself, “or rather, about former President Trump.”
According to her, it is better to forward questions about the former head of state to members of the Republican Party.
“I can’t say that we miss him on Twitter,” Psaki said, referring to the ex-president’s high-profile posts on the social network.
At the same time, when asked whether the current president supports the permanent blocking of Trump’s Twitter account, a spokesman for the White House noted that the decision to freeze indefinitely was made by the company itself. However, she immediately emphasized that Biden has repeatedly advocated reducing the use of “hate speech” in social networks.
It became known on January 8 that Trump’s Twitter account had been permanently blocked. According to the administration of the social network, the reason for this decision was the risk of incitement to violence after the storming of the Capitol by his supporters. In addition to this, the leadership of Twitter promised to deactivate any page on the social network that Trump will use.
After that, the page of the electoral headquarters of the politician was frozen because of the publication of his statement, in which he stressed that Twitter would not silence him. The social network immediately deleted this post.
