The Republic of Mari El continues to prepare for the start of the fire hazardous season.
Representatives of the commission of the Department of Forestry in the Volga Federal District and employees of the regional Ministry of Natural Resources examined forest fire units in Kuyar and Vizimyar.
According to the head of the regional base of the aviation security of forests, Petr Dolgov, more than 130 units of special machinery and equipment have been prepared to extinguish the fires. A part was purchased with funds within the framework of the federal project “Preservation of Forests”.
During the season, temporary workers will be hired, and in mid-April, departmental exercises will be held, the task of which is to work out the tactics of extinguishing fires in forests and interacting with other departments that are also involved in combating forest fires, the regional forestry department reports.
