Two-thirds of Russian citizens have faced fraud from employers when looking for a job.
More often than not, job seekers were promised more remuneration than they received in practice (61%). Izvestia writes about this with reference to the HeadHunter platform.
Other common forms of deception were functionality that did not correspond to the real one (53%) and the working conditions specified in the vacancy did not meet the agreements (36%).
33% of those surveyed said that their work schedule was irregular and they were not officially employed. 25% complained about trying to involve them in a pyramid scheme.
9 thousand respondents took part in the study from July 7 to July 14, 2020.
If we talk about the geography of unscrupulous employers, the survey showed violations in the Altai Territory (78%), Samara (76%) and Omsk (70%) regions. Residents of Udmurtia (39%), Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (50%) and Ulyanovsk Oblast (51%) are the least likely to encounter fraud when applying for a job.
If we talk about the spheres of activity, then most of the complaints are about government services and work in non-profit organizations (78%), about the automotive business (78%) and from administrative personnel (75%).
