Marina Kohal, wife of Ukrainian rapper Andy Cartwright, was detained on July 31 on suspicion of murdering a musician. This was reported by the press service of the department of the Investigative Committee for St. Petersburg.
“As a result of investigative actions and operational-search measures, together with the employees of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the wife of the victim born in 1984 was detained on suspicion of committing this crime,” the statement says.
Earlier on the same day, in a conversation with reporters, Kohal’s lawyer Irina Skurtu did not rule out that the investigation would petition for the arrest of her client.
On July 30, the dismembered body of rapper Andy Cartwright was found in one of the apartments in St. Petersburg on Nevsky Prospekt.
The lawyer of the rapper’s wife reported the body to the police, who, according to the lawyer, dismembered her husband’s body after he died of a drug overdose. The woman explained her act by the fact that she wanted to hide Cartwright’s death from the fans, and said that she agreed to undergo a lie detector test to prove that she was not involved in his death.
Andy Cartwright was born in Ukraine. Initially, he began to rap in his entourage, but at the end of 2013 he recorded the album “The Coming of the Deaf Cat”. After that, he was called to the Versus rap battle in St. Petersburg.
