Vaccination against the coronavirus of Russian President Vladimir Putin will give momentum to the entire vaccination process, the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said in an interview published on Tuesday, March 30, to the Argumenty i Fakty publication.

“Of course, I think his [Путина] an example will give dynamics to the whole process. As for why people are in no hurry to get vaccinated, it seems to me that these are our national characteristics. There are still many people who are very suspicious of vaccinations in general, ”the Kremlin spokesman said.

He also called for an increase in vaccination awareness campaigns while increasing vaccine production.

The spokesman also expressed the opinion that it will not be possible to get rid of the coronavirus completely.

“The virus itself is very difficult to defeat. He will not go anywhere, he will be with us, ”he said.

Putin was vaccinated against the coronavirus on March 23.

On March 28, the Russian leader said that restrictions in the country could be lifted “after population immunity is established.”

Since January 18, a large-scale vaccination against coronavirus has been carried out in Russia. Citizens are offered to be vaccinated against COVID-19 free of charge with Sputnik V, developed by specialists from the Gamaleya Center.
