On Victory Day, veterans in the Tula region will receive 11 thousand food sets

The government of the Tula region reported that this year, on behalf of the governor Alexei Dyumin, 11 thousand food packages for Victory Day will be awarded to veterans, as well as widows of disabled people and participants in the Great Patriotic War.

The food set will include canned meat and fish, sausages, tea, coffee and sweets – everything, as the Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the region Andrei Filippov explains, that is needed for the festive table.

More than 100 employees of the Russian Post will deliver food packages. The kits will be handed over from April 26 to May 9. They will be handed over by employees of social service institutions and municipal administrations.

Food sets will be delivered to the following categories of citizens:

  • participants in the Second World War, including military personnel in the rear;
  • disabled veterans;
  • former underage prisoners of fascist concentration camps;
  • citizens awarded with the sign “Inhabitant of the besieged Leningrad”;
  • disabled from childhood due to injury in the Second World War;
  • home front workers.
