“Today it is too early to sum up the results of the pandemic – it continues. But we can say with confidence that the coordinated actions of medical workers, organizers … made it possible to avoid a dramatic scenario for the development of a pandemic, ”he said at the final meeting of the Ministry of Health of the Russian Federation.
Murashko stressed that the COVID-19 pandemic has become an unprecedented challenge that has united workers, volunteers, non-profit organizations, drug and medical device manufacturers in repelling the impact of the coronavirus.
In Russia, over the past day, 8,995 new cases of COVID-19 were detected in 84 regions. 397 people died, 9 109 patients fully recovered.
Earlier that day, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Tatyana Golikova said that the rate of vaccination against coronavirus in Russia is growing, which gives rise to thinking about the imminent lifting of restrictions imposed on the background of the pandemic. However, she urged the heads of the regions to be careful when making the appropriate decision.
At the same time, Golikova said that at the moment more than 8 million Russians have already been vaccinated from the coronavirus in the country.
Large-scale vaccination of the population against COVID-19 in Russia began on January 18. The vaccination is given free of charge to everyone.
