Monument to the Liberator Soldier burned down in Tatarstan

In the city of Zainsk in Tatarstan, a monument to the soldier-liberator, made of composite material, burned down. This was reported on March 16 at the Republican Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergencies.

“At 18.39, the fire department call number 101 received a message about a fire in the city of Zainsk on Pobedy Boulevard. A monument to the Soldier-Liberator (made of composite material) was on fire, ”it was reported.

At 18:50, open burning on an area of ​​6 sq. M was eliminated. The causes of the fire are being established.

The Prosecutor of Tatarstan announced the start of an inspection, during which data on the observance of the production technology of the monument and the use of the required refractory materials will be established.

It is clarified that the cause of the shrink could be careless handling of fire. Shortly before the incident, a group of young people was seen near the monument.

The monument to the soldier-liberator was erected in the city of Zainsk in 2020 to commemorate the 75th anniversary of victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Earlier that day, in Orenburg, the monument to cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin was once again damaged. Unknown persons tore off granite slabs from the pedestal. One of them with Gagarin’s painting split in two.

The monument, erected in the park of the same name, has been attacked by vandals for the second time. Earlier, they painted over the astronaut’s autograph with green paint.

The city administration promised not to leave such actions unpunished. Currently, law enforcement agencies are checking the incident and establishing the identity of those involved in the act of vandalism. The extent of damage and the consequences of the incident will be established by the city department of urban planning and land relations.
