The Political Executive Committee of the Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova (PCRM) condemned the decision of the Constitutional Court (CC) to lift the state of emergency.
The document notes that there are five people in the court, and not six as it should be. Therefore, they cannot make decisions in a truncated composition, which is specified in Article 6 (1) of the Constitutional Court Law. “The delay in the formation of the full composition of the court is a direct sign of the collusion between Sandu (President of the Republic of Moldova, ed.) And Manole (Chairman of the Constitutional Court, ed.) And pressure on the Supreme Council of Magistracy, which is obliged to delegate a sixth judge to the court,” the statement says. The communists claim: the Constitutional Court can suspend the decision of the parliament, but not annul it in any way. The cancellation of the state of emergency, according to the left opposition, will provoke an increase in the number of deaths from Covid 19. “The Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova has repeatedly advocated holding early parliamentary elections. But not at the cost of lawlessness, violation of the Constitution and neglect of the life and health of citizens, ”the communists say.
