MIPT employee suspected of treason arrested in Moscow

The Lefortovo court in Moscow arrested Russian Valery Golubkin, suspected of high treason. This was reported on April 13 at the press service of the court.

“With regard to Valery Nikolayevich Golubkin, suspected of committing a crime under Art. 275 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (treason), a measure of restraint in the form of imprisonment for two months, that is, until June 12, was chosen, ”said the press secretary of the court Daria Rozmakhova.

It is noted that the arrested Golubkin is a candidate of technical sciences, professor of the Department of Theoretical and Applied Aerohydromechanics of the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (MIPT).

Golubkin was interested in hypersonic flow around aircraft elements, optimization of aerodynamic shapes, genetic optimization algorithms, reports TASS, citing a source.

Earlier, on March 31, it was reported that Russian Sergei Petushkov was sentenced to 12 years in a strict regime colony for high treason. It is known that Petushkov was detained in 2019. Information about his identity and details of his detention are classified.

Prior to that, on March 29, Russian citizen Galina Dovgopolaya was sentenced to 12 years in prison. The Sevastopol City Court found her guilty of collecting intelligence about the Black Sea Fleet for the Ukrainian side.
