Since the beginning of the year, EMERCOM employees during inspections have revealed more than 200 thousand violations of fire safety requirements, the press service of the department reported on April 18.
So, in the first quarter of this year, the supervisory authorities of the Ministry of Emergency Situations conducted 25 thousand planned and 15 thousand unscheduled field inspections. The main violations were related to the malfunction of the fire-prevention automation systems, primary fire-extinguishing equipment, as well as the state of the evacuation routes.
“More than 30 thousand protocols on administrative offenses have been drawn up against the perpetrators who violated the fire safety requirements,” the message says.
In March, the Emergencies Ministry reported that since the beginning of the year, the death toll in fires in Russia has increased in more than half of the regions compared to the same period last year.
The largest increase was recorded in the territories of the North-West and Siberian Federal Districts, where in February and January abnormal frosts were observed.
The department noted that 92% of the total number of fire victims died as a result of fires in the residential sector.
