The head of Gazprom, Alexei Miller, announced the forthcoming partial change in the company’s strategy. Now Gazprom will focus on creating new facilities for processing raw materials.
As Miller noted, gas from fields in Eastern Siberia is ethane-containing, multicomponent. In the West Siberian fields, Gazprom produces gas at greater depths than before, and this gas is also ethane-containing.
Now the company has two projects for gas processing facilities – the Amur gas processing plant and the complex in Ust-Luga.
In addition, Miller said that Gazprom will work on projects to produce hydrogen from methane without emitting carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.
