The test result for coronavirus infection of Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, who fell ill at the end of January, turned out to be negative. The head of state said this in a video message posted on Instagram on Friday, February 5.
“I am very pleased to inform you that I was tested for coronavirus this morning and the result was negative. Of course, I will have to wait a few more days, but I already feel good, I am recovering, ”he said.
The fact that Obrador fell ill with a coronavirus infection became known on January 25. According to him, the disease was mild, the president immediately began treatment.
In turn, Russian President Vladimir Putin wished the Mexican leader a speedy recovery.
According to the Worldometer portal, more than 1.89 million cases of coronavirus infection have been detected in Mexico, almost 162 thousand patients have died.
