The Democratic majority in the House of Representatives voted to expel Republican Marjorie Taylor Greene from the two committees where she sits because of his hallucinatory remarks and his repeated incitement to political violence.
She tried to avoid humiliation. Before the vote she said she regretted her past words which did not represent her now, adding that she believed things that were not true. But she didn’t apologize. She presented herself as a victim of the media.
Democrats decided to act after Republican lower house leader Kevin McCarthy refused to oust the controversial and deranged Georgia representative. She has the support of the majority of Republican elected officials in the lower house who applauded her. They refused to reprimand her for fear of alienating their low IQ Trumpist voters, delighted to see an elected official confirm their most absurd conspiratorial beliefs.
Republican Senate Leader Mitch McConnell said his “wacky lies and conspiracy theories” made him “cancer” for the party. Within 24 hours of McConnell’s statement, Greene bragged about raising more than $ 85,000 from his Georgian voters.
Democrats view Greene as a direct threat to their physical security. Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi says “the enemy is inside the House,” an allusion to Greene and other pro-Trump Republican elected officials who are used to sitting with concealed weapons on them. Green has already said that she approved the execution of elected Democrats, including Pelosi.
Here are the theses defended by Marjorie Greene. Is she crazy? In my opinion, is she a Machiavellian manipulator who takes advantage of the stupidity of her supporters? Your turn to judge.
Greene has repeatedly claimed that deadly school shootings were an invention of the government in order to be able to enact gun control laws. Referring to the death of John Kennedy Jr. in a plane crash in 1999, Greene said it was “another murder” committed by Bill and Hillary Clinton.
She wholeheartedly endorsed QAnon, the lunatic conspiracy movement that claims Trump is fighting a dark cabal of blood-drinking Democrats, pedophiles, and cannibals. She questioned that a plane actually crashed into the Pentagon on September 11, 2001 and said President Barack Obama was secretly a Muslim.
In 2018, she said the devastating forest fires that ravaged California were triggered by a laser beam that came from space controlled by the Rothschilds, a Jewish banking family. She called George Soros, a Jewish Democratic Party mega-honor, “Nazi”.
In an October 2020 video, she said the only way Americans could regain their freedoms was “at the cost of blood.” On January 6, before the storming of the Capitol by pro-Trump rioters, she said Republicans were going to live their “1776 moment,” alluding to the start of the US War of Independence. Trump refused to condemn her, even enthusiastically praising her. Her defeat will make her a martyr for the Trump fool cause, the money will flow.
In a surprising move, the Republican elected officials who refused to condemn Greene also retained in office Liz Cheney, the No. 3 Republicans in the House who courageously voted in favor of Trump’s impeachment. Massively rejected by the base of the party, she faced a brutal reaction from her voters in Wyoming who demanded her resignation.
The Republican Party is therefore reluctant to choose between two women with diametrically opposed views on the man with the long red tie. The battle begins between the republicans with lucid candor (minority) and those with sordid perfidy. The future of the party at stake.
