On March 8, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports 5.011 new infections compared to the previous day (8.103). A further 34 deaths from the crown were recorded. The incidence rate for 7 days continues to grow 68.0 (61.1). There are now 2,786 patients in the intensive care unit. More than 4.9 million people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Germany.

In total, 2,505,193 cases of the virus have been identified in Germany since the start of the pandemic. Thus, in comparison with the previous day, the number of patients increased by 5,011 cases. A total of 71,934 people have died as a result of Covid 19 since the start of the pandemic.

The seven-day incidence for Germany is 68.0. This figure shows how many people per 100,000 inhabitants of the country have been infected in the past seven days. The recommended incidence rate is 50. However, these numbers are not scientifically calculated optimal indicators, but rather benchmarks. They are essential for the effective operation of local health authorities. Up to 50 cases, the epidemiological situation is under control; the chain of infection of the infected can be traced.

According to the RKI, there are 122,300 active patients who are currently ill. This result can be obtained by subtracting the number of deaths from coronavirus (71,934), as well as recovered (2,304,300) from the number of ever infected residents of the country (2,505,193).

The data is based on a statement by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), which receives information from the regional health authorities in Germany. They provide updated information several times a day. Since reporting rates vary by region, there may be deviations and fixes as a result of late reporting. In addition, sometimes there are delays in displaying data for individual federal states.
