On March 4, the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) reports 11,912 cases of infection. This is much more than the previous day (9.019). 359 people have died as a result of coronavirus infection. The incidence rate for 7 days increased from 64.0 to 64.7. There are currently 2,823 patients in the intensive care unit. More than 4.3 million people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 in Germany.

In total, 2,471,942 cases of the virus have been identified in Germany since the start of the pandemic. Thus, in comparison with the previous day, the number of patients increased by 11.912 cases. A total of 71,240 people have died as a result of Covid 19 since the start of the pandemic.

The seven-day incidence for Germany is 64.7. This figure shows how many people per 100,000 inhabitants of the country have been infected in the past seven days. The recommended incidence rate is 50. However, these numbers are not scientifically calculated optimal indicators, but rather, benchmarks. They are essential for the effective operation of local health authorities. Up to 50 cases, the epidemiological situation is under control; the chain of infection of the infected can be traced.

The data is based on a statement by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), which receives information from the German regional health authorities. They provide updated information several times a day. As the reporting speed varies by region, there may be deviations and fixes as a result of late reporting. In addition, sometimes there are delays in displaying data for individual federal states.

According to the RKI, there are 117,300 active patients who are currently ill. This result can be obtained by subtracting the number of deaths from coronavirus (71,240), as well as recovered (2,283,400) from the number of ever infected whales in the country (2,471,942).
