The nationwide 7-day morbidity rises to 108.1 (107.3), in ten states this figure is more than 100. Currently, 3145 patients are undergoing intensive therapy. More than 7.5 million people in Germany have been vaccinated against Covid-19.
Since the start of the pandemic, 2,674,710 cases of the virus have been identified in Germany. Thus, in comparison with the previous day, the number of patients increased by 7.485 cases. In total, 74,964 people have died as a result of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.
The seven-day incidence for Germany is 108.1. This figure shows how many people per 100,000 inhabitants of the country have been infected in the past seven days. The recommended incidence rate is 50. However, these numbers are not scientifically calculated optimal indicators, but rather, benchmarks. They are essential for the effective operation of local health authorities. Up to 50 cases, the epidemiological situation is under control; the chain of infection of the infected can be traced.
The number of active cases, that is, people who are currently infected, is estimated at about 165,946. This number is obtained by subtracting the number of deaths (74.964) and the number of those who recovered (2.433.800) from all those ever infected (2.674.710).
The data is based on a statement by the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), which receives information from the German regional health authorities. They provide updated information several times a day. As the reporting speed varies by region, there may be deviations and fixes as a result of late reporting. In addition, there are sometimes delays in displaying data for individual federal states.
