An Israeli health insurance firm said the rate of COVID-19-related infections dropped drastically among people aged 65 and older who received their first dose of Pfizer / BioNTech’s vaccine in the month of December, in Israel.

The positive trend is just as remarkable for hospitalizations: for the same age group that received their vaccine, the number of people hospitalized had fallen by more than 60%.

KSM Maccabi Research published these results following an analysis based on information from a pool of more than 50,000 customers.

First in class in immunization in the world, Israel had vaccinated around 30% of the population as of Saturday. However, access to a large quantity of vaccines came in exchange for the health information of the country’s citizens.

Starting Saturday, teens between the ages of 16 and 18 will receive their first dose.
