In the Pskov region, investigators identified the vandals who desecrated the monument to the heroes of the 6th company in the city of Ostrov. This was announced on Tuesday, April 6, in a message published on the website of the SU of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Pskov region.
The vandals who defiled the monument turned out to be two unemployed residents of the city of Ostrov, who at the time of the act of vandalism were in a state of alcoholic intoxication.
“The perpetrators turned out to be two unemployed local residents who, in the early morning of April 2, while intoxicated, turned in other directions the busts of the Islander soldiers standing on pedestals who had died heroically during a clash with illegal armed groups,” the statement said.
At the moment, one of the detainees is giving testimony, and the whereabouts of his accomplice are being established.
Earlier it was reported that the prosecutor’s office of the Pskov region asked to deal with the act of vandalism committed at the mass grave of soldiers of the Soviet army in the village of Vaulino.
