More than 33 thousand cubic meters of water was pumped into the burning oil mine No. 3 of Yareganeft in Komi, in which a fire broke out on November 1 at a depth of 200 meters, and anti-explosive bulkheads will be installed in the mine. This was announced on Friday, November 6, by the Situation and Analytical Center of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation.

“On November 6, as of 08:00, water supply continues to extinguish the fire through two temporary pipelines (33,175 cubic meters have been pumped in). Six sets of anti-explosive pre-fabricated bulkheads have been delivered from Vorkuta by rail, one set has been installed in the mine, ”the message says.

The temperature in the emergency area, the direction of movement of the ventilation jets and the monitoring of the gas situation are monitored. The facility employs 112 people and 17 pieces of equipment. Search and rescue operations will continue after the fire has been extinguished and water has been pumped out.

At the time of the fire, there were 82 workers in the mine, two of them did not come to the surface, later the Ukhta city court declared them dead. Based on this, a decision was made to flood the mine. A criminal case has been initiated on violation of safety requirements.

The Yareganeft Oil Mine Department is developing one of the oldest fields in Timan-Pechora – Yaregskoye. It has been in operation since 1939.
