The regional prosecutor’s office has confirmed the indictment in a criminal case against three former employees of the oil refinery.

A 54-year-old pumping station employee, a 55-year-old head of the external security service and a 47-year-old head of the enterprise’s territory security service are on trial. According to the investigation, together with 17 other accomplices, from January to December 2018, they stole engine oil from the plant. The amount of damage was estimated at 15.5 million rubles.

In order to take the oil away from the enterprise, the defendants installed fake registration plates on tractors and semi-trailers. The stolen products were then sold on the territory of the Rostov region and the Republic of Kalmykia, and the money was divided between the accomplices.

Five women aged 47-57 and 15 men aged 35-65 were involved in the theft and sale. All of them worked either in the security service or in other structural divisions of the enterprise, the press service of the Volgograd region prosecutor’s office said.

The investigation of the criminal case was carried out by the Main Investigation Department of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region, with the operational support of officers of the FSB of Russia in the region, together with colleagues from the Directorate for Economic Security and the PC of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Volgograd Region.

Three members of the group fully confessed to the crime and agreed to cooperate with the prosecutor’s office. The investigation of the criminal case against the rest of the participants continues.

The prosecutor’s office transferred all the materials of the case to the Krasnoarmeyskiy District Court. The suspects face up to 10 years in prison.
