Over the 11 months since the beginning of 2020, the number of fires in the Kaluga Region has decreased. 2745 fires were registered, which is 19% less than in the same period last year. Such data at a briefing held in Kaluga was provided by the Deputy Head of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations for the region, the head of the Department of Supervision and Preventive Work Alexander Trifonov. His words are quoted by the press service of the department.

Despite the general decrease in the number of fires, people in the Kaluga region continue to die in the fire. In January – November, the fires noted in the region claimed the lives of 67, while last year there were only 60.

According to statistics, most of the fires, and this is about 80% of all fires, occur in the residential sector.

Another trend that has been established over the past five years. In early January, there are about 30 fires in the region. Rescuers are already preparing for this. They make a list of sites where fireworks and fireworks are allowed and check them. This year there will be 35 such territories in the Kaluga Region.
