On the eve of Earth Day, which will be celebrated this Thursday, April 22, Kalugastat has prepared interesting figures on the state of the ecology of the Kaluga region.

Recall that Earth Day has been celebrated in Russia since 1993. On this day, it is customary to cleanse the area around you from debris.

According to the interregional administration of Rosprirodnadzor in Moscow and the Kaluga region, 19.9 thousand tons of harmful gaseous substances were utilized in the region in 2020. All of them were caught by the sewage treatment plant. At the same time, despite the increase in the total volume (a year earlier there were 17.8 thousand tons), the share of trapped harmful substances amounted to 45.2%, which is 2.5% more than the previous figure.

In the Kaluga Region, the amount of solid production and consumption waste increased by 0.5% over the year – to 1.69 million tons. Most of them, 1.681 million tons, have been neutralized. This is 44% more than in 2019, that is, the increase was almost 1.5 times.
