In the weekly period, from April 26 to May 2, 16,700 cases of ARVI were registered in the Altai Territory, of which 67 percent were children under 14 years old. Overall, this is 4.8 percent lower than last week.

Influenza cases in the region have not yet been recorded, according to the regional department of Rospotrebnadzor. “In laboratory tests, the circulation of viruses of non-influenza etiology (adenoviruses, rhinoviruses) is recorded,” the ministry’s press service specifies.

A vaccination campaign was carried out in the region. In the fall, more than a million people were vaccinated – half of the region’s population.

Experts call for the prevention of ARVI and influenza. Rospotrebnadzor recommends washing hands more often, wearing masks in public places, maintaining social distance, moisturizing and ventilating the room, and leading a healthy lifestyle.
