In Penza, a child died from carbon monoxide poisoning

A three-year-old child in Penza died from carbon monoxide poisoning, his parents are unconscious in the hospital. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) on Monday, December 28.

“According to the investigation, in the afternoon of December 27, 2020, relatives in an apartment at a house on Furmanov Street in the city of Penza discovered the body of a child born in 2017. The boy’s parents were also unconscious in the apartment, they were hospitalized in a medical institution, where they are provided with the necessary medical assistance, ”- said in a statement on the ICR website.

The forensic medical examination established that the death of the child was due to carbon monoxide poisoning.

The TFR opened a criminal offense on the basis of a crime under Part 1 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Causing death by negligence”).

Currently, investigators are establishing all the circumstances of the incident and a study of the technical condition of the gas equipment in the apartment is being carried out.

In Tatarstan, on December 7, a seven-year-old child died of carbon monoxide poisoning in a bathhouse. According to the mother of the deceased, the family set fire to the bathhouse in the daytime, periodically it was heated. The son went to wash alone. After 15 minutes, he was found unconscious in the bathhouse.
