The police detained a suspect in the arson of a car in Moscow. This was announced on Wednesday, April 14, by the deputy head of the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the capital, Ekaterina Guz.
A visiting man addressed the law enforcement agencies, saying that an unknown person set fire to a Nissan car in his use on Sudostroitelnaya Street. During the search, the police detained a 41-year-old resident of the Moscow region.
“It has been established that the attacker, out of hooliganism, set the vehicle on fire by bringing in an open source of fire, and then disappeared,” the Moscow city news agency quoted Guz as saying.
The amount of damage was approximately 150 thousand rubles. A criminal case was opened against the suspect for deliberate destruction or damage to property. The defendant was arrested. Interior Ministry officers identify possible accomplices in the crime and check the suspect for involvement in other offenses.
On the eve it was reported that the court sentenced the former deputy of the village council in the Belinsky district of the Penza region to almost nine years in prison on charges that he poured diesel fuel and set fire to a fellow villager, who as a result lost both legs, NSN reports.
