In Belarus, facts have been established that representatives of the headquarters of the ex-head of Belgazprombank Viktor Babariko were involved in the riots in the country. This was announced on Wednesday, August 12, by the Belarus 1 TV channel.

“A lot of facts have been established confirming that representatives of the headquarters of the ex-head of Belgazprombank Viktor Babariko organized, coordinated and financed the riots in Belarus,” BelTA news agency quotes information from the news release.

As reported on the air of “Belarus 1”, last night the riots were less massive. At the same time, according to law enforcement officials, some of the participants in the unauthorized actions were in a fighting mood and their actions were clearly coordinated.

Viktor Babariko, the ex-head of Belgazprombank, was supposed to take part in the elections as a candidate, but the CEC refused to register him. Currently, he and his son are in the pre-trial detention center of the State Security Committee on the case of tax evasion and legalization of funds obtained by criminal means.

After the announcement of the results of the presidential elections on August 9, mass protests began in Belarus. For three days, the demonstrations of the protesters were accompanied by riots and clashes with security officials.

At the same time, on August 12 it became known that the coordinators of the mass riots in Belarus were detained in Minsk. One of them rented a room in the hotel “Belarus”, from there he directed three subordinates who coordinated the protesters.
