The Korean company Hyundai has unveiled a new Santa Cruz pickup truck. This was reported on April 15 by “Autoreview”.
The car has a supporting body structure, a transverse engine arrangement and an uncontested configuration with a four-door, two-row cab. The model is 4971 mm long, 1905 mm wide, and 1694 mm high.
The length of the loading platform is 1323 mm. There is a storage compartment under the rear of the floor, and the compartment itself is closed by a sliding curtain. There are several steps in the rear bumper: in the center and on the sides.
The cabin has an eight-inch multimedia system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A 10-inch display and digital instrument cluster will be offered as an option.
There are two four-cylinder engines to choose from. Basic 2.5-liter engine with 193 hp. aggregated with a classic eight-speed “automatic”. The expensive versions have a 2.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of about 280 hp. and an eight-speed robotic gearbox. All pickups have HTRAC all-wheel drive with rear axle clutch.
On February 10, it was reported that Hyundai showed the Tiger X-1 concept, which is a walking transforming vehicle capable of navigating difficult terrain. As conceived by the developers, such a device could, for example, conduct research activities not only on Earth, but also on other planets, as well as on the Moon.
