Picking your strategy
Earlier I mentioned that even though baccarat is a game of luck with the right strategy or formula you’ll be able to increase your chances of winning and if you consistently polish your skill you just might be able to turn it into something capable of making you win every time you play the game.
To win in the game of baccarat, you’d have to either place a bet on the banker’s hand, player’s hand, or tie.
Just like a coin-tossing game where the probability of having heads or tails is 50/50, in baccarat, betting on any of the three options have their probability of occurring.
Betting on the banker’s hand has a probability of 45.84%, the player’s hand has a probability of 44.61%, and the tie has a probability of 9.45%. With these statistics, you can see that the banker’s hand is more likely to occur whereas the tie bet has the least probability of occurring.
Using the probabilities above, you should be able to formulate a working formula or strategy for yourself but if you are still clueless why not take a look at ours.

Betting on the banker
Have you ever wondered why people place their bets on the banker’s hand, most of the time, if not all of the time? Some people may have a strategy when making those bets, others are simply making those bets because its the best thing they can do, and some even make the bets without knowing why – it could be because they read something online or some random guy told them to make the banker’s bet. The set of people mentioned above have their reasons for making the banker’s bet, why should I?
Theoretically, the banker’s bet has an occurrence probability of 45.84% although some versions of the game propose that the correct winning percentage of the banker’s bet is close to 50% hence the reason why the casino applies a 5% commission on the banker’s hand. What does that mean to you the bettor? This means that you are more likely to win betting on the banker’s hand than losing.
Due to the commission that’s applied to the banker’s bet, you’ll do just fine making the banker’s bet provided you are not using it together with any type of betting system like the progressive, negative, or flat system.
Never make the tie bet
Professionals in the game of baccarat never consider the tie bet. For many, there are only two options available to them in their heads which is either the banker’s or the player’s bet. The reason why people run away from this betting option is really not difficult to guess. It has the lowest probability of occurring (below 10%) and has a house advantage of 14.4% which is pretty high when compared to the banker’s and player’s bet which have a house edge of 1.06% and 1.26% respectively.
So what if the tie bet occurs during the game? Nothing happens, your wager will be returned to you and you can wager it again in the next game. So there’s practically no harm in not making the tie bet.
