Over the next four years, more than 100 artificial intelligence hackathons among developers are planned in Russia. According to the Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Dmitry Chernyshenko, according to expectations, about 20 thousand people will take part in them by 2024.

Artificial Intelligence Hackathon is a competition where software developers jointly solve a business problem or social problem posed by the organizers using artificial intelligence technologies in a limited time, including using government data sets.

Hackathons will be held within the framework of the federal project “Artificial Intelligence”. At the expense of the project, the organizers expect to promote artificial intelligence and involve as many IT specialists as possible in the development of this technology.

“Until 2024, hackathons will be held in many constituent entities of the Russian Federation. Also, the federal project “Artificial Intelligence” of the national program “Digital Economy” provides for holding regional and international competitions. More than 100 events in total. Financing for their implementation will amount to about 850 million rubles. Extra-budgetary sources will also be attracted, ”Dmitry Chernyshenko noted.

For Astrakhan, hackathons are no longer uncommon. At Astrakhan State University, as part of the World Engineering Games, they are held from September to May. Schoolchildren, students and university graduates take part in them. The last hackathon was held last week – April 17 and 18. These days, ten young Astrakhan residents tested the Fusion 360 computer simulation software, solving test tasks drawn up by real companies and enterprises.

The final hackathon of this season at ASU will be held in May. Anyone can participate in it, and not only the participants of the previous stages. You can sign up for the IT competition at http://wec.today/.
