The epidemiological situation in the country is again quite unstable, the number of infections is increasing, the incidence rate is growing. German doctors of intensive care and emergency care demand an extension of the strict quarantine regime until early April.
Gernot Marx, president of the Interdisciplinary Association for Intensive Care and Emergency Medicine (DIVI), believes that three weeks of disciplined behavior is critical to countering a third wave.
Vaccination is not yet decisive, since only a small number of residents of the country are vaccinated, and self-control tests have not yet gone on sale. The easing of restrictions on March 7 could lead to a sharp increase in critically ill patients requiring intensive care, according to forecasts modeled by DIVI.
