Investigators are conducting an inspection after the descent of freight train cars in the Chelyabinsk region, the press service of the Ural Investigative Department for Transport of the Investigative Committee of Russia told Izvestia on Monday, March 16.
The incident occurred on the 1978 km of the Syrostan-Khrebet stretch of the South Ural railway, 17 freight cars with coal went off the rails. There were no casualties as a result of the accident, however, the railway track was damaged.
The investigative and operational group is working, the scene of the incident is being examined, the workers of the locomotive brigade are being interviewed. Based on the results of the check, a procedural decision will be made.
Earlier, on March 9, 20 cars with coal derailed in the Trans-Baikal Territory. Traffic on the section of the railway where the accident occurred was suspended in the even and odd directions.
