In the Novosibirsk region, from May 3 to May 5, a high fire hazard remains. Forecasters assigned it a grade 4, which indicates a high risk of fires. This was reported on the website of the West Siberian Hydrometeorological Center.
Earlier, the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, Roman Vilfand, also warned about a fire hazardous period in Western Siberia.
“The Ural Federal District and the south of Western Siberia – it is here that there will be very large areas of the fourth class of fire hazard (the penultimate class, indicating a high risk of fires). This applies to the Kurgan region, the south of Tyumen, Omsk, Tomsk, Novosibirsk regions, ”he told TASS.
Warm weather and low rainfall in March and April contribute to the outbreak of fires on these days. Earlier in the Novosibirsk region, a special fire regime was announced. It will be valid until May 10. These days Siberians are forbidden to walk in the forest, throw burning matches, cigarette butts. It is impossible to make fires not only in the forest, but in parks, garden and summer cottages. Also, you cannot burn dry grass, but many residents do not comply with this requirement: the Ministry of Emergency Situations regularly reports on violators of this prohibition.
