March 2 marks exactly five years since the Tver region is headed by the governor Igor Rudenya. During this time, many significant events have happened, and some have yet to happen. In the meantime, we decided to sum up the interim results of the work of the head of the region and talk about the main projects.
From the beginning, it is worth mentioning, probably, the most significant event for the Upper Volga region. Igor Rudena managed to solve one of the main tasks – transport. No more minibuses breaking all possible road rules. Now on the roads of Tver and the Kalininsky region, buses of the “Upper Volga Transport” travel. In the near future, this practice is planned to be extended to other municipalities. If earlier residents, accustomed to jostle in the morning in minibuses, expressed dissatisfaction with the new blue buses, now the situation has changed dramatically.
Tourism continues to develop in the region. Thus, work continues on the large Volga Sea project. In the Konakovsky district, all conditions for a good rest have already been created, but with the implementation of the new project, tourism will reach a completely different level. Water, rail and road transport will be combined into a single transport system. Thus, traveling along the Moscow Sea and the Volga will be pleasant and easy.
We must also mention the Rzhev Memorial to the Soviet Soldier. Not much time has passed since the discovery of the object, which is important for historical memory, but a huge number of people have already visited it. We can say for sure that this stream is unlikely to ever dry up. Not far from the memorial, the construction of a new railway station has already begun to make it easier for citizens to get to the monument.
In government hands
Another major project of the past five-year plan is the concentration of strategic assets in state hands. We are talking about “Tvergorelectro”, “Tvervodokanal”, “Tverspetsavtohozyaistvo”, “Transport of the Upper Volga region”, as well as “Tver generation”. Suffice it to recall how often a few years ago, with the onset of cold weather in the regional capital, pipes burst and how many of them were repaired. Of course, the problem has not been completely resolved yet, but there is good dynamics, and most importantly, we learned how to eliminate problem situations faster.
One of the main themes for our country has always been the theme of roads. And there is a positive shift in this direction. In 2020, the workers brought 543 kilometers of coverage to the standard state. It is significant that this figure is increasing from year to year, and the roads of the region are overgrown with new asphalt pavement.
Over the past five years in the Tver region, at the direction of the governor, the support of family values has been continued. Over the past year alone, almost 10 thousand gifts for newborns were presented. The kits include the most necessary things for babies. The composition of the set was not invented from the head, but was formed taking into account the opinions of the inhabitants of the region, which were expressed during the polls in the media and social networks. The gift consists of 50 items, including bedding, clothes and other things that babies need.
The region continues to increase the size of the monthly payment for children from 3 to 7 years old. So, from January 1, 2021, this figure has reached the mark of 5946 rubles. In total, today there are about 100 support measures and more than 20 types of social payments for families with children. By the way, a very necessary amendment was also introduced in the region on the initiative of the governor. Now, brothers and sisters are mostly sent to the same kindergartens and schools. The burden on parents (financial and moral) is reduced, and children learn better and more fun together.
The Tver region does not forget about the “children of war”. On the initiative of the head of the region, a law was signed, which gives citizens born in the period from January 1, 1928 to December 31, 1945, additional benefits. This category of citizens can count on services out of the queues in medical organizations and social service organizations. They also get an advantage over other categories of citizens when they enter stationary and semi-stationary social service organizations.
