According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), over the past day in Germany, the number of newly infected people has increased by 9,762, which is slightly less compared with the previous day (9,997)… However, 369 deaths were recorded. Currently, 2,848 patients are undergoing intensive care. To date, more than 3.7 million people across Germany have been vaccinated against Covid-19.

As of Saturday, February 27, since the beginning of the collection of official statistical information on the coronavirus, 2,244,684 cases of infection have been recorded in the country. The total number of deaths from Covid-19 to date is 69,519. Not all authorities release their data on weekends, so actual numbers may be higher.

The seven-day incidence for Germany is 63.8. This figure shows how many people per 100,000 inhabitants have been infected in the past seven days. The recommended incidence rate is 50, when the infectious situation is considered controlled and all infected can be monitored.

It is estimated that there are approximately 121,400 active cases, that is, people currently infected. This figure is not officially recorded by the Robert Koch Institute. However, as in other countries, it is determined by subtracting the number of deaths (69,888) and presumed recovered (2,243,200) from all ever infected (2,344,446).

The critical four-day R-value increases significantly again. It describes how many people, on average, infect an infected person. On February 26, it is 1.01.

Data obtained from the Robert Koch Institute (RKI). The Institute receives information from the German health authorities who provide updated information several times a day. Since reporting rates vary by region, there may be deviations and fixes as a result of late reporting. In addition, sometimes there are delays in displaying data for individual federal states.
