Access to the RT Redfish project page on Facebook has been restricted by automated tools by mistake and has already been restored. On Saturday, May 2, a representative of the social network told reporters about this.

“Access to the RT Redfish Facebook page was mistakenly restricted by our automated tools and is now restored,” he explained to RIA Novosti.

A Facebook spokesman on behalf of the social network apologized for the inconvenience.

The fact that Facebook removed the project page of the RT Redfish TV channel became known on April 30. The reason was two posts with historical photographs depicting the execution of the Italian dictator Benito Mussolini and the atrocities of the Nazis in concentration camps. The corresponding publications, as noted, were timed to coincide with the 76th anniversary of the liberation of Italy from the dictatorship of Mussolini and the liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp.

On the same day, Roskomnadzor demanded that the management of the Facebook social network restore access to the RT Redfish project account. The department sent a letter to the company demanding to remove all imposed restrictions and explain the reasons for the blocking. These actions of the American company in the department were regarded as a violation of the key principles of the free flow of information and unhindered access to it. They, as noted in Roskomnadzor, are an act of censorship against the Russian media.

The Redfish media platform is part of Ruptly, the RT channel’s video agency. The Redfish team conducts their own investigations and also creates documentaries.
