According to experts, people with high blood pressure are often prescribed a diet as one of the treatment elements, since some foods, especially meat ones, are high in salt, namely sodium, which increases the risk of developing cardiovascular diseases.
It is noted that even meat delicacies, which are labeled as having a low salt concentration, sometimes contain a high amount of sodium, which is dangerous for hypertensive patients.
Doctors warn that increased salt intake disrupts the sodium balance in the body, which leads to the accumulation of fluid and, in turn, to high blood pressure. At the same time, if you reduce sodium intake from 10 g per day to 6 g, then the pressure will decrease, which in turn can reduce death from stroke by 16%, and from coronary heart disease by 12%.
On April 1, Mikhail Poluektov, associate professor of the Department of Nervous Diseases and Neurosurgery at Sechenov University, said that regular lack of sleep increases the likelihood of arterial hypertension and also increases the risk of heart attack.
