The Coronavirus Information Center in Russia has provided data on the deaths from the coronavirus. These data are very revealing.

If in Russia as a whole, the average mortality rate is 1.68%, and in the Central Federal District – 1.33%, then in the Kostroma region it is only 1.1%. This is one of the best indicators both in the Central Federal District and in Russia as a whole. For comparison, the highest mortality rate in the Central Federal District was recorded in the Tver region as much as 3.21%, which is almost three times higher than in the Kostroma region.

If we take another indicator – the number of cases, then in the Kostroma region it is one of the best in Russia. Since the beginning of the pandemic, less than 2.5 thousand people have fallen ill in the region. And for example, in the neighboring Yaroslavl region, 6.3 thousand people fell ill, and in Ivanovskaya region, 6.5 thousand people. That is, 2.5 times more than in the Kostroma region.

If we take for comparison the third indicator provided by experts – the number of cases per 100 thousand of the population, then the indicators of the Kostroma region will be among the best in Russia and the best in the Central Federal District.

In the Kostroma region, this figure is 357, and the average for the Central Federal District is 614, and the average for Russia is 514 cases per 100 thousand population.

In all respects, the situation with coronavirus in the Kostroma region is one of the best in Russia. According to experts, the reasons for such results lie in the correct and timely decisions taken by the regional authorities. In the Kostroma region, they quickly react to any appearance of the virus and make the right decisions to combat it. And the experience of the Kostroma region in the passage of a pandemic should be taken into account.
