Leading Russian experts discussed how the current party ratings can be transformed into concrete results in the form of mandates received in the elections to the State Duma in 2021. The discussion took place within the framework of the round table of the Expert Institute for Social Research (EISS).

According to Viktor Poturemsky, Director of Political Analysis at the Institute of Social Marketing (INSOMAR), United Russia is still among the leaders, and there is also a keen interest in the party “Fair Russia – For the Truth!”.

The head of the scientific council of the Center for Current Politics Alexei Chesnakov agreed with his colleague’s opinion that it is too early to predict the election results, since the election campaign has not developed, but it is realistic to draw up a preliminary alignment based on sociological research.

Chesnakov suggested that United Russia would receive 51% of the mandates on the federal list.

“This political force is capable of receiving more than 300 mandates. Moreover, this is not a forecast – it is a kind of description of probability, “Chesnakov said during a roundtable discussion on the topic:” The elections are gaining momentum: from current ratings to specific results. “

The head of the EISS expert council Gleb Kuznetsov agreed with the opinion that the United Russia party will get the majority. At the same time, the expert noted the advantages of the electoral system in the Russian Federation.

“The most progressive and adequate political system is a mixed one, like ours, when half of the chamber is elected proportionally, and half is majority. It contains both the advantages and disadvantages of its parents, but allows balancing the representation, ”he stressed.

The president of the communication holding Minchenko Consulting Yevgeny Minchenko noted that the Communist Party of the Russian Federation could be hindered by a large split between the radical wing and the loyalists. The party “Fair Russia” – “For the truth!”, As the expert said, may perform very well or not pass even the 5% barrier.

On April 7, it was reported that about 1.3 thousand people submitted applications for participation in the preliminary voting of United Russia, of which a third (32%) are social activists and volunteers.

Rane, on March 8, professor of the Financial University under the government of the Russian Federation, political scientist Oleg Matveychev expressed the opinion that the United Russia party will gain up to 200 seats in the State Duma of the new composition.

A single voting day is set in Russia for September 19, 2021. At the same time, elections to the State Duma of the VIII convocation will be held.
