The European Union, within the framework of strengthening the integration process of Montenegro, intends to support the development of local civil society. This is stated in the description of the tender, which RT got acquainted with.
For these purposes, Brussels is ready to allocate up to € 800 thousand. The goal is to strengthen representative democracy and the process of integration with the EU by providing citizens with opportunities for active participation in decision-making and stimulating a favorable financial and legal sphere for society.
It is noted that non-profit or civil society organizations established in Montenegro, the EU or a number of other countries will be able to apply for participation in the selection competition for this tender.
On February 15, it was reported that the US State Department intends to finance projects for the development of media and civil society in the Balkans, allocating $ 2.5 million.
The project will be overseen by the US State Department’s Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labor. It is planned to allocate $ 1.55 million to support civil society organizations in Serbia, the partially recognized Republic of Kosovo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
