It is noted that the decision was made for the rational organization of working time in the republic.
“Considering that December 31 is traditionally a holiday, preparation for the New Year, as well as the opportunity to spend invaluable time with your family, it is proposed to release Tatarstan citizens from work, making up for this by moving the working day to Saturday, December 26. We are talking about persons holding government positions in the republic, as well as persons holding positions of state civil service and other positions in the executive bodies of state power of the republic.
Municipalities and state bodies that do not belong to the executive branch and other organizations were recommended to adopt the appropriate schedule, the press service added.
The Belgorod region became the first region of Russia, where the forthcoming December 31 was made a day off. The corresponding order was signed by the Acting Governor Vyacheslav Gladkov on December 2.
Then, the authorities of Stavropol, Crimea and Kursk regions decided to make December 31 a non-working day for civil servants.
Earlier in December, the head of Sober Russia, Sultan Khamzaev, asked the heads of the regions to declare December 31 a day off. In his opinion, an official day off will allow Russians to spend this day with their families and make them calmer and happier.
On December 2, the press secretary of the Russian President Dmitry Peskov noted that the regional authorities themselves can decide whether to make December 31 a non-working day.
