The idea that coronavirus is dangerous primarily for people over 60, and that children tolerate it relatively easily, turned out to be – alas! – incorrect; in Kostroma in recent days, 6 cases of severe coronavirus disease have been reported among young Kostroma residents.
Doctors called this disease multisystem inflammatory syndrome. It is observed in adolescents under 19 years of age and is characterized by a high fever, rash, redness of the whites of the eyes and lips. With this inflammation, the blood vessels of the whole body suffer, and the most serious danger it poses is rupture of the coronary vessels.
Such a disease is treated only in a hospital, and the first few days – in intensive care. Now, in the Children’s Regional Hospital, there are three patients with this syndrome at once, which the COVID itself suffered asymptomatic, but after 3-4 weeks a complication developed.
In this regard, doctors recommend to closely monitor the condition of children – especially those who have had coronavirus.
The danger of such post-covid syndrome is that there is no “risk group” with it – it can overtake any child.
