Each meeting for children is an acquaintance with unusual therapeutic fairy tales, listening to which they really experience events together with the heroes, awaken their imagination, form a vivid color picture of the world
For four years, the Regional Children’s Library has been running the Fairy Tales on the Lawn project, aimed at fostering an interest in children with disabilities in the natural world around them.
During this period, more than 500 little Astrakhan residents have become participants in the project. Each meeting for children is an acquaintance with unusual therapeutic fairy tales, listening to which they really experience events together with the heroes, awaken their imagination, form a vivid color picture of the world. The meetings are accompanied by master classes, viewing of educational videos, games.
On the eve, little readers got acquainted with the wonderful world of indoor plants. During the meeting, the children learned: what is the difference between forest, garden, field and indoor plants, what flowers are made of, how to properly care for them. A bright electronic presentation “Unusual home flowers” introduced the children to such plants as “Shy mimosa”, “Venus flytrap”, “Bonsai tree”. Reading a therapeutic fairy tale by Tatyana Shorygina allowed the children to understand how interesting and unique wildlife is. The participants of the meeting were invited to plant seeds of plants on their own in order to take care of them at home.
Library specialists believe that the fabulous atmosphere of such meetings helps the little reader to reveal his inner potential, develop creativity, imagination, expand and activate vocabulary, and most importantly, form a respectful attitude towards nature.
