Charge d’Affaires of the Russian Federation in the United States was summoned to the State Department, where he firmly denied the accusations of the American side against Moscow of destabilizing actions. This was reported at the Russian Embassy in Washington on Friday, April 23.
Earlier, on April 15, it became known that US President Joe Biden signed a decree on the introduction of sanctions against Russia. The restrictions were imposed on 32 legal entities and individuals from Russia, which, according to the US presidential administration, attempted to influence the US presidential election in 2020, as well as other acts of disinformation and interference.
At the same time, it was indicated that the Biden administration “made it clear” that the United States “wants stable and predictable” relations with Russia, but will defend its national interests.
The Russian Foreign Ministry warned of a decisive response to US sanctions.
